You can find cheap flights to Prague from all over Europe. Prague is a bargain destination and airlines are supplying good deals. And, if you can book in advance, you're likely to find something.

There are a few different ways to get cheap flights to Prague. This page outlines a few tips and strategies for you. These ideas can be used for any destination not just to and from Prague.

Tips and Ideas

1. Book in advance.

This is the best way to guarantee good cheap tickets - even during peak times. You'll have a better selection of flight times and more airlines to choose from.

Remember, prices go up as the plane fills up. So booking early is very important.

2. Be flexible.

This is very important when finding cheap flights to Prague. Consider flying in the morning instead of the evening. Or, fly to Prague on a weekday like Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. You'll find less demand and lower prices during these times. And, remember - some low-cost airlines are "no frills" - meaning they aren't going to cater to you since they already discounted their prices. They are even known to change flight times or cancel flights altogether.

3. Book a flight in the morning.

Airlines will change prices as the day goes on according to competitors. You might consider checking prices on Saturday and Wednesday mornings in particular. That's when airlines release their prices. You might even catch a mistake or "blooper price".

4. Check airlines directly.

The big websites offering good deals are great for comparing prices. But, it's worth going straight to the airlines website. Here you might find a web-only fare, vacation packages or last minute discounts.

5. Consider vacation packages.

Many cheap flights to Prague can be booked through consolidators who have purchased tickets far in advance. These agencies like, Expedia, etc. offer discounted flights within a package that might include accommodation. These are also good for last minute deals.

6. Book at last minute.

Like accommodation, impromptu plans can benefit you. Cheaper ticket prices can be found just days before the actual flight. So, consider a quick weekend break to Prague with little notice.

Many hotels and apartments in Prague can also be cheaper at the last minute.

7. Split your travel.

Consider non-direct flights and splitting your travel time. This is a really good idea if you're traveling from the U.S. Spend a night somewhere if you have to - you'll still save more money and see another city.

For example, catch a flight to London, Paris or Amsterdam and check cheap flights to Prague from there.

Prague's Airport - Easy Come - Easy Go!

Prague Vaclav Havel Airport is small and very convenient. It's a breeze compared to other larger European airports.

Best of all, the airport is very close to Prague's main attractions. It's only 17 km to the city center.

You can be at Prague Castle in 25 minutes and Old Town in 30 minutes by taxi (a bit longer by public transportation).

When you are leaving Prague, give yourself about 2 hours to check-in and go through security. You can easily make it in 1.5 hours, but it's nice to have a little extra time.
