Magdalena Apartment

Fantastic Location in Historical Building

The Magdalena apartment offers one of the best locations anywhere in Prague. It's just below the castle in our favorite area of Prague, Mala Strana.

The apartment is actually part of Residence Thunovska, a collection of independent apartments. The residence includes a few extra services with a staff to answer your questions too. You will have full independance, but a chance to get help as you need it.

Just outside the Magdalena apartment you will find the steps to the castle, literally just across from the main door.

The street is charming and has little traffic other than pedestrians during the day. In the morning and evening, it's very calm, even magical. Seriously, this is old Prague - the building dates from the 16th century and it has kept much of its charm after various renovations.

Magdalena apartment kitchen to bedroom

The Magdalena apartment has a large main bedroom and another separate room that can be arranged with two single beds or one double.

The apartment itself is modern with all the features of home, including a few arches and even a piano. In summer the apartment stays cool with high ceilings and thick stone walls. While in the winter there is central heating with a thermostat to control the temperature.

The kitchen sits between the two rooms and has most amenities that you will need including a stove, oven and dishwasher.

There is one bathroom in the Magdalena, but it has two separate entrances, so you won't have to cross another person's room to get there.

The residence dates from 1527 and its cellars are from the 14th century, making it one of the oldest buildings in Prague. It has undergone a few reconstructions along the way and it was actually three buildings at one time. Inside there are a few rustic elements that have been preserved including arches, painted ceilings and a few views depending on the apartment.

If you are really curious about the building, ask the staff to show you around. There are so many interesting details here to see that will add to your experience of staying here.
